| Robert M. Burke, III - President |
Bob
Burke began his career in the hospitality industry as
a hotelier in New York. He moved to Miami where he both
managed and marketed two deluxe hotels in Coral Gables
and Coconut Grove. In 1984 he went solo in order to pursue
a career which would allow him to share the knowledge
he acquired as a hotel marketer with others in the hospitality,
travel and tourism industries. Initially teaming up with
the original Pan American Airways, he was able to manage
and massage their vast databases and turn them into effective
distribution channels for industry suppliers. Bob pioneered
fax broadcasting in the travel industry changing forever
the way suppliers do business. Faxing evolved to email
broadcasting and databases expanded from travel agents
to other industry segments, including meeting planners/incentive
buyers, etc. and ultimately to consumers. eGroup's success
stories are legion and involve all areas of the travel
industry from the smallest hotels to the best known all-inclusive
resorts. He is a Past President of Skål International
Miami and is active in numerous travel industry organizations.

Michelle
Acosta - Director of Sales |
Michelle
Acosta began her career in tourism in 1992 at Sandals Resorts.
While there she spearheaded the Public Relations and Promotions
Department. During her five-year tenure at Sandals, she
was an integral part in the creation of their now trademarked
WeddingMoon’s, as well as many high-profiled television
and celebrity promotional opportunities. It was during
her tenure at Sandals that she was first introduced to
electronic marketing and saw first hand its’ positive
impact in bringing product awareness and direct contact
to hundreds of travel agents with the press of a button. After
leaving Sandals & Beaches Resorts, she became the
Director of Marketing for Allegro Resorts, now known as
Occidental Resorts. During her time there she created
and set into motion the marketing for their most upscale
all-inclusive property in Mexico, Royal Hideaway. In order
to meet her marketing and sales goals, Michelle relied
heavily on electronic marketing to get her message out.
This was the first concerted effort made by Allegro to
go direct to travel agents instead of going through tour
operators. This effort proved fruitful in marketing Royal
Hideaway and selling last minute inventory while providing
brand awareness within the travel agent community. After
many years of purchasing electronic marketing services
from eGroup and having first hand experience and confidence
in its services, she is now the Director of Sales &
Marketing. Michelle is an active member of SITE, South
Florida Chapter.
