Casino Nights

We are having a golf tournament and the theme is Casino. I am trying to think of a couple of drinks to run specials on that have casino type names and I am drawing a blank! Not to worry, Miss cocktail has a handful of aces up her sleve.


Ace of Spades
1 oz crown royal
1 1/2 oz amaretto
fill Coke or Pepsi

Combine Crown Royal and amaretto in a tall glass filled with ice. Top with Coke or Pepsi. Serve garnished with a sprig of mint and a stirring spoon. Discovered in Reno, Nevada.

Baccarat Martini
1 oz ice wine
1/2 oz vodka

Combine in mixing glass filled with ice. Strain into chilled Martini glass and garnish with a grape. Discovered in Lake Tahoe.

Bet The Limit
1/2 shot tequila
1/2 shot cointreau

In a mixing glass filled with ice combine ingredients. Strain into shot glass. Submitted by Angela Pierce, Manhattan, New York.

Black Jack
2 oz scotch
1 1/2 oz kahlua
1 oz triple sec
1/2 lemon

Squeeze juice of lemon into shaker filled with ice. Add other ingredients and shake. Strain into two chilled cocktail glasses. Discovered in Reno, Nevada.

Cash Out

1 oz gin
1/2 oz grand marnier
orange twist

In a mixing glass filled with ice combine ingredients. Strain into martini glass and garnish with orange twist. Discovered in the Everglades, Florida.

1940s Casino
2 oz dry gin
1/4 tsp maraschino
1/4 tsp lemon juice
2 dashes orange bitters

Craps
1 oz white creme de cacao
1/4 oz Grand Marnier
1/2 oz mandarin liqueur
3/4 oz gin
3/4 oz orange juice

Combine in mixing glass with ice. Stir well and strain into large cocktail glass. Discovered in Paris, France.

Croupler
1 1/4 oz cognac
3/4 oz amaretto

In a mixing glass filled with ice combine ingredients. Strain into snifter. Discovered in Paris, France.

Go-For-Broke
1 oz extra dry vermouth
3/4 oz Bombay Sapphire gin
1 dash cointreau
1 dash bitters

Combine in mixing glass filled with ice. Stir and strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a twist of orange. Discovered in Mashantucket, Connecticut.

High Roller
3/4 oz grand marnier
1 1/2 oz vodka
4 oz orange juice
2-3 dashes grenadine

Combine spirits and juice in shaker filled with ice. Strain into a tall rocks glass filled with ice and garnish with a few drops of grenadine. Discovered in Mashantucket, Connecticut.

House Cocktail
1 1/2 oz gin
3/4 oz dry vermouth
2-3 dashes orange bitters

Combine in a mixing glass filled with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with an olive. Submitted by Terry Trainer, South Carolina.

Jackpot
3 oz champagne
1 oz Goldschlager
1 dash Couversier

In a champagne flute pour Goldschlager. Top with champagne. Garnish with a dash of Couversier Submitted by Molly Smith, Denver, Colorado USA.

Keno
1 oz dark rum
1/4 oz white curacao
1/4 oz maraschino liqueur
1 tbsp grenadine

Combine in a shaker filled with ice. Strain into cocktail glass and garnish with a orange twist and cherry. Submitted by Molly Smith, Denver, Colorado USA.

One-Armed Bandit
750 ml dry white wine
6 oz Cointreau
2 oranges
1/2 lime
1/2 lemon
4-5 dashes grenadine

In a large pitcher combine 750 ml dry white wine with 6 ounces Cointreau. Squeeze juice of 2 oranges, 1/2 lime and 1/2 lemon. Add 4 or 5 dashes grenadine for color. Garnish with maraschino cherries and sliced citrus. Serve in Tom Collins glasses filled with ice. (Makes 6 to 8 servings.) Discovered in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Poker Cocktail
1 oz sweet vermouth
1/2 oz light rum

Combine in mixing glass filled with ice. Strain into chilled Martini glass and garnish with a lime peel. Discovered in Lake Tahoe.

Push
1/2 oz apricot brandy
1/2 oz amaretto
3 oz pineapple juice
fill champagne

Combine brandy, amaretto and pineapple juice in mixing glass filled with ice. Strain into Tom Collins glass filled with ice and top with champagne. Garnish with a lime wheel and cherry. Submitted by Tracy Egan, Detroit, Michigan USA

Roulette
1 oz blue Curacao
fill champagne
mint sprigs

In a champagne flute, pour blue Curacao. Top with Champagne and garnish with a sprig of mint. Discovered in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Royal Flush
1 oz Crown Royal
1 1/2 oz triple sec
2 oz peach schnapps
fill cranberry
1 splash orange juice

Combine in shaker filled with ice. Strain into tall rocks glass filled with ice and garnish with a twist of orange. Discovered in Newtown, Connecticut.

Snake Eyes
3 oz Kahlua
3 oz cream
1/4 oz Frangelico

In a mixing glass with ice combine equal parts Kahlua and cream. Stir well. Pour mixture into two martini glass. Then using a stirrer or narrow spoon, pour Frangelico into the center of the mixture to create the "eye." Always serve in pairs. Submitted by Peter D'Amato, Lake Placid, New York.
